Profiles drawn for high, snowy mountain lots, where heavy snow loads, deep cold and exposure set the terms — steep snow-shedding roofs, high-performance envelopes and sheltered cooling all matter more here than anywhere.

A mountain site is the most demanding a sauna faces: heavy snow loads, extreme cold and wind all bear on the design at once. These profiles answer with steep, deep-overhang roofs that shed snow, high-performance insulated envelopes that hold heat against the cold, and heaters sized with a margin for altitude and exposure.
The reward is a sauna that turns a hard climate into the whole point — heat and steam with the snow falling outside, and a cold-air cool-down that needs no plunge pool. A covered deck or porch gives that transition somewhere sheltered to happen, which is why several of these profiles include one.
